8 months {jacob}

Age: 8 months on July 18, 2015

Weight:  21 pounds {82nd percentile}     Height:  29.5 inches {98th percentile}

Sleeps: Jacob sleeps about the same as he did at 7 months, although he seems a little more settled in his routine now.  On a typical night, Jacob goes to sleep between 6:30 and 7:00 pm.  He wakes up around 2:30 to nurse, then sleeps until between 6:00 and 7:00 am.  Some nights Jacob will also wake up somewhere between 9:30 and midnight, but he’s usually a once a night guy.

Naps: Jacob likes an hour to two hour nap in the morning around 8:30 or 9:00  am and then a two hour plus nap each afternoon around noon.  He is a great napper and is napping better than he did at seven months!

Eats: Jacob eats three solid food meals a day and nurses probably about half an hour after each one, with an extra nursing session between his afternoon nap and dinner.  He wakes up about once a night to nurse.  He loves every food I introduce him to now and likes both purees and picking up small finger foods.  He will suck and chomp on pieces of steak, peaches, and lots of other foods.

Diapers: Size 4

Clothes: mainly 18 months, but some 24 month and some 12 month clothes fit too.

Loves: rolling and scooting ALL over {and boy, is he FAST!}, sitting up, playing with toys, snuggling, being worn in the Baby Bjorn or Moby, his pacifier {oh how he loves that thing!}, his playmat, his saucer, his doorway jumper, his sisters and brother {they make him smile!}, being outside, eating, chewing on his spoon, picking up and eating little snacks by himself

Does NOT like: being tired or too hungry

New this month: Jacob now can sit unassisted, schooches/army crawls faster than any baby I have ever seen, and gets up on his hands and knees and rocks and rocks

Best moment{s}: being home with Jacob and the other three kiddos.  I love that I get to stay home during the summer!

Most difficult moment{s}: the rough night here or there, but really I think there has only been one in the past month.  I can’t complain!

Looking forward to: more at home time with my baby!

And just for fun, here is Andrew’s 8 month update.
