baptism day

The Lord bless you

and keep you;

the Lord make his face shine on you

and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn his face toward you

and give you peace.

-Numbers 6:24-26-

I love baptisms.  I always feel so much joy and hope on these special days.  To me, as a parent, baptism is about making a promise to bring your child up in a home that loves and honors Christ.  It is a day to promise to live as an example of Jesus so that your child grows up not only knowing, but loving the Lord.

We celebrated my little one’s baptism on a beautiful and sunny day in early August with our family there to share in the celebration.  Andrew wore a little suit of white and just made it through the whole baptism without falling apart {the ceremony was, of course, right at the start of his afternoon nap time!}.  We followed the ceremony with a yummy lunch and a delicious vanilla buttercream {recipe up later this week!} and coconut topped cake made in the shape of a cross.

I pray that he finds happiness, peace, and joy.
